The Basic Worksite Traffic Management & Traffic Control (BWTM-TC) Refresher course is a Main Roads WA requirement for those looking to renew their BWTM-TC accreditation to control traffic and work on or near roads in Western Australia.
This course provides students with all the current rules and regulations whilst allowing them to brush up on their practical skills.
A PERSON CANNOT IMPLEMENT TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT or CONTROL TRAFFIC ONCE THEIR ACCREDITATION HAS EXPIRED.
Main Roads WA gives a person three months following the expiry of their accreditation to sit a one day Refresher after which time they must re-sit the full course.
The BWTM-TC Refresher course is delivered in 1.5 days and covers the following units:
RIIWHS205E - Control Traffic with Stop-Slow Bat
RIIWHS302 - Implement traffic management plans
RIIWHS303 - Position, setup and program portable traffic control devices
RIIWHS206 - Control traffic with portable traffic control devices
MANDATORY PRE-REQUISITES**

Copy or photo of current / previous valid Australian OR Recognised Driver's Licence - minimum probationary.

**All pre-req evidence must be submitted to enrolments@perthtraffictraining.com.au prior to the course.
List a minimum of three (3) worksites where you have undertaken traffic management duties in the previous 12 months (e.g. setting up signs/devices, controlling traffic, pedestrian management, etc.)

6. Supervisor name
7. Phone number
Students need a good level of physical fitness and health as training may involve:

Lifting/moving signs and devices (approx 6-8kgs each)

Setting up/packing down sites

Standing for period of up to 2 hours conducting traffic control
Participants require a basic level of language, literacy and numeracy skills to enable them to meet the requirements of the course, at a minimum the ability to:

Comply with written and verbal reporting requirements and procedures

Communicate clearly and concisely with others to receive and clarify work instructions

Identify and select appropriate traffic guidance scheme and implement traffic management plans

Apply legislative requirements

Describe the effects of travel speed and vehicle mass on stopping distances

Clearly communicate on a hand held radio
This is non-accredited training therefore a Statement of Attainment is not issued.
Students will be provided with a Main Roads WA Certificate of Accreditation and ID Card valid for three years.
RE-ACCREDITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED UNTIL ALL DOCUMENTS ARE PROVIDED.
IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO PROVIDE THE REQUIRED DOCUMENTS YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO RE-SIT THE FULL COURSE.
