This Main Roads WA Accreditation Course provides participants with the theory and practical skills required to prepare, review, monitor, adjust and modify Traffic Management Plans and Traffic Guidance Schemes.

Throughout this course, participants will learn to:

  • Prepare, review, monitor, and modify Traffic Management Plans and Traffic Guidance Schemes

  • Review site conditions and traffic data to select appropriate traffic control measures

  • Carry out risk assessment processes to identify hazards and implement appropriate risk control strategies

  • Create compliant traffic management solutions aligned with the Main Roads WA Code of Practice, AS1742.3 and Austroads standards

  • Determine and implement the correct placement of signs, devices, and resources to ensure safe and efficient traffic movement

  • Recognise key stakeholders and manage the approval and notification processes for works on roads

This level of Main Roads WA accreditation is suited to Traffic Planners, Project Managers, Approving Officers and those working in the industry with at least basic worksite Traffic management for more than 12 months

  • RIIRIS402E Carry out the risk assessment process 

  • RIICWD503E - Prepare traffic management plans and traffic guidance schemes

Student requirements:

-Laptop or similar device. ESSENTIAL! NOT YOUR PHONE. Wi-Fi is available.

  1. MUST BE LOADED WITH MICROSOFT WORD.

  2. MUST HAVE ACCESS TO EMAILS.

 

Uploaded planning software an advantage.

Copy of Austroads Guide to Temporary Traffic Management PART 3 (Static Worksites)

Copy of Main Roads WA Traffic Management for works on roads Code of Practice (most recent)

This is what you need to provide:

Statement of Attainment or USI extract for

RIIWHS302E Implement a traffic management plan accreditation

RIICOM201E Communicate in the workplace

Main Roads Certificate of Accreditation for Basic Worksite Traffic Management.

If you do not have these, you must contact your training provider for copies.

If your last training was with Perth Traffic Training, you are not required to provide these.

Tickets are not accepted!

All Students need to provide the below:

Document evidence of at 1 years’ experience in traffic management, road asset management, road safety, road design, road construction or road maintenance.

Documentary evidence must include the following as a minimum either-

CV or similar providing details of practical experience e.g. employer, job role, type of work undertaken, dates, etc.

OR

A letter or third-party report from your employer detailing the type of work you have performed

AND

List a minimum of three worksites where you have undertaken traffic management duties in the previous 12 months (e.g. setting up signs/devices, controlling traffic, pedestrian management, etc.)

-Unique Student Identifier (USI) number. Go to http://www.usi.gov.au to find it if you don’t have it.

-Construction Induction White Card/ Safety Awareness Training Blue Card or equivalent.

-Photographic evidence of identity such as driver’s licence or similar.
