Portable Traffic Devices

Commencing March 1, 2026 two more units will be added to the Traffic Management accreditation training course required by Main Roads WA to work on roads in Western Australia.
These units are
RIIWHS206 Control traffic with portable traffic devices and temporary signs and
RIIWHS303E Position, set up and program portable traffic control devices.
What does this mean for everyone?
-
The Basic Worksite Traffic Management and Traffic Controller (BWTM-TC) course will now be delivered over 4 days for those entering the industry.
-
From now on those seeking to renew their accreditations will be required to attend 2 days to include the two new units.
-
For those currently accredited you will only be required to complete the two new units on your next Refresher. No need, prior to that.
-
Those only undertaking the Basic Worksite Traffic Management (BWTM) accreditation training will not be required to complete the two new units.
